Twenty-two University of Scranton education majors are serving as student teachers during the fall semester at 14 schools in 11 school districts, which are Abington, Carbondale, Forest City, Lackawanna Trail, Lakeland, Mid Valley, North Pocono, Riverside, Scranton, Valley View and Wayne Highlands.

More than 1,650 students have been named to the Fall 2015 Dean's List at Kutztown University. To be eligible for Dean's List, an undergraduate student must be registered for at least 12 credits and have a minimum grade point average of 3.60.

Student Government, comprised of 36 full-time students, is tasked with fostering understanding, communication, and cooperation among students, faculty, and administrators.

The Kutztown University Marching Unit (KUMU) has been selected as one of 17 bands to appear in the 2015 Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday, Nov. 26, beginning at 8:30 a.m. With 150 members, KUMU is one of two bands from Pennsylvania and the only collegiate band in the parade. Now in its 96th year, the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade is the oldest Thanksgiving parade in the nation. The 1.4-mile parade route ends at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Fifty-five returning students will participate in the Peer Mentor Program and guide new and transfer students through their first few months at The Valley. Peer mentors are responsible for assisting new students in succeeding personally, socially, and academically through connections to the College and their peers.

The following students earned the distinction of Faculty Honors for Spring 2015 at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

A total of 149 Mansfield University students have been named to to spring 2015 President's List. To be named to the President's List, a student must attend the university full-time and attain a 4.0 QPA for the semester.

Elizabethtown (Pa.) College announced the names of students whose outstanding academic performances have earned them the recognition of being included on the spring 2015 dean's list. Students on the dean's list are full-time undergraduate students who earn a semester grade point average of 3.60 or better in 14 or more credit hours, of which at least 12 credits are letter-graded course work.

At 11 a.m., Saturday, May 16, 514 graduates took center stage for Elizabethtown College's 112th Commencement. The class of 2015 boasts 77 earning their Master of Science degrees, 126 with Bachelor of Arts degrees, 282 with Bachelor of Science degrees, 15 who have earned their Bachelor of Music degrees and 14 with bachelor's degrees in social work. Forty-five University of Scranton students were inducted into Alpha Sigma Nu, the national Jesuit honor society. Alpha Sigma Nu is the only honor society open to students and faculty in all disciplines of the University. Junior and senior students who have distinguished themselves in scholarship, loyalty and service are eligible for nomination by chapter members.

Lebanon Valley College has recognized 130 of its first-year students for making an impact on campus as a new student. The Celebration of Student Success reception, held on Tuesday, April 7 in Mund College Center, honored the student's achievement.

Students serve as officers of The University of Scranton's more than 80 clubs and organizations for the 2014/2015 academic year.

The University of Scranton inducted 114 students into Alpha Lambda Delta, the National Honor Society for Freshmen, at a ceremony held on campus. For membership, students must rank in the top 20 percent of the class, have a minimum GPA of 3.5 for the first semester of their freshman year, and be enrolled on a full-time basis. The Richard H. Passon Chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta was founded in 2001 at Scranton.

Lebanon Valley College is a four year residential college and believes that an LVC education is the result of distinctively curricular and co-curricular experiences in class, on campus, and in the residence halls. Approximately 1,200 LVC students live in the residence halls on campus each year.

The University of Scranton orientation assistants help assimilate incoming students to college life during sessions held for freshmen and their families during the summer.

Wilkes University would like to welcome the 565 incoming freshmen students that comprise its Class of 2018. It is the 81st freshmen class in University history.
